Apple has added the iPhone 6 — once Apple’s most popular iPhone — to its list of vintage and obsolete products.
Devices are added to Apple’s vintage products list when manufacturing ended more than five years ago. Apple and the official network of Authorized Service Providers will continue to offer repairs for the iPhone 6 until the device is added to Apple’s separate obsolete products list, which happens after devices have been discontinued for more than seven years.
Earlier this year, Apple added the larger iPhone 6 Plus to the vintage products list, with the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 remaining off the list because the device was available with some third-party retailers after the larger 5.5-inch model was discontinued, meaning until now, it was not yet been more than five years since manufacturing ended for the smaller model and that the iPhone 6 device.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were Apple’s best-selling iPhones of all time, featuring at the time an all-new design, Retina HD Displays, improved cameras and more. The devices released with iOS 8, with Apple stopping supporting the models with new software updates with iOS 13.
